Water
On this page we will describe our water-system.
Under the car we have a 120 liter fresh-water tank. Actually an aluminum frame is made holding two 57 Liter water-tanks. Each tank can be filled independantly of the other, also we can choose out of which tank we are taking water using a switch in our kitchen. The advantage of this over one large tank is that if we run into a problem with the water or one of the tanks is leaking, we will still have half of our capacity left until the problem is sorted.
With the Shurflo pump the water is pumped through a pre-filter and goes on to our main Microfilter system, the Seagull IV. This filter has a capacity of 8000 liters (or 12 months) after which the core-filter has to be changed.

A standard sink (SMEV Model 8005) with tap is built in our kitchen.
The waste water flows into a small 20 liter tank under the sink.
To get warm water we have installed this Elgena boiler.
It is heated either through the motor of the car or through the built-in electric heater.
A waterless Porta Potti is built into one of our drawers in case of emergency.
Shurflo pumps are sold by many retailers/dealers. Just Google to find them in your area.
Generalecology is the Manufacturer of the MicroFilter system. For local dealers enter Seagull IV in Google, they will usually have lots of information in your local language.
Elgena manufactures boilers. It is a very flexible company and will produce outside of the standard upon request. All reviews on this company and it’s products have been very positive.
Thetford are the makers of Porta Pottis.
SMEV does not only sell sinks.
